We have been pleased to supply, fabricate, and erect structural steel for the Te Arai Links Ocean Cottages, a bespoke residential project in Te Arai, New Zealand. Developed in collaboration with Dawson Construction and designed by Studio John Irving Architects, these two-bedroom cottages are inspired by the renowned Member Cottages of Tara Iti Golf Club. Positioned across both golf courses, they are carefully oriented to the northeast, capturing breathtaking views of the fairways, Pacific Ocean, and natural surroundings. With a luxurious yet understated design, the cottages feature a nature-inspired color palette that seamlessly integrates with the landscape.
Nestled into the landscape, the Ocean Cottages provide a tranquil retreat just a short distance from the hospitality offerings at Te Arai Links. Featuring ocean-facing outdoor fire pits, they create inviting spaces to enjoy year-round. The structural steel we provided plays a critical role in ensuring the longevity and stability of these homes, reinforcing our commitment to delivering exceptional results across the Te Arai Links development.
This project is part of our extensive work within the Te Arai Links development, which includes the Ocean Restaurant, the Villas, and several high-end residences. Working closely with Dawson Construction, we ensured the steel structures met the project’s architectural and engineering standards. Our role was essential in delivering a durable framework that supports the cottages' expansive 140m² interiors and 40m² patios. Structural steel also played a crucial role in maintaining the large openings and seamless indoor-outdoor flow, enhancing both function and aesthetics. Precision and efficiency were key in keeping the project on schedule while upholding the highest standards of quality.
