Brief

Hikurangi School caters for around 235 students from years 0 to 8, and is situated on a large site, just 15kms North of Whangarei. The school boasts both a junior and senior adventure playground, swimming pool, hall / gymnasium, a well-appointed kitchen, library and a variety of reading and withdrawal rooms with extensive playing fields. 

Arcwell were contracted to fabricate, supply, and install the structural steel package for a new classroom block onsite. The new building contains an additional 4 classrooms plus breakout areas, and a covered deck + walkway area. The building design called for cast in portal legs, meaning we needed to work closely with the main contractor to co-ordinate an efficient build sequence to ensure timeframes were met, enabling them to get ahead of originally planned schedule.
